Bollywood’s much-anticipated romantic drama, Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, is set to release in theaters on August 1, 2025. Directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions, the film is a spiritual sequel to the 2018 hit Dhadak.
Dhadak 2 delves deeper into themes of love and societal constraints, drawing inspiration from the critically acclaimed Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal (2018). The story follows Vidhi (Triptii Dimri) and Nilesh (Siddhant Chaturvedi), two young individuals from different castes whose relationship faces societal resistance.
The film’s release was initially slated for 2023 but faced delays due to certification hurdles. After undergoing 16 major edits, including changes to politically sensitive dialogues, Dhadak 2 secured a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
